Michel Bocart lives and works in Braine-l'Alleud (Belgium).

 

Studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Anderlecht, developed there his taste for all techniques on drawing paper, charcoal, ink and watercolor.

 

1986-99 :  He presents his works at multiple events: Galerie Bortier (Brussels),   

Center Rops (Namur), Feasts of Saint-Martin (Tourinne-la-Grosse), Galerie Beciani (Charleroi) 

Paulus Gallery,  Campo & Campo (Antwerp) etc.   

 

Many travel (Senegal, Morocco, Egypt, Tunisia, Brazil, India ...) led him to work the materials, including  sand and  natural pigments.

 

2000-09 : participates in several exhibitions on the African “thematic” including the collective exhibition “Influence of African symbols in contemporary art”, (Salle Allende, ULB, Brussels)

 

2010 : presents “Dark matters” at the Ecuries de Waterloo.

 

2011 :exhibition "Pearls of the North  » At the Palais d'Iéna in Paris where he occupies the picture rails alongside Belgian, Luxembourgish and Dutch artists such as Jan Fabre,  Marcel Broodthaers, Jacques Charlier,…

 

2012 : presents his works on paper ("Les Garde-Temps" series) at the Galerie Libre Choix in Brussels.  

These works provide a link with painting: intimate, they are delivered as one turns the  

pages of a book ...

 

2013 :  The "French International Art Gallery Sparta", West Hollywood, Los Angeles (USA),  presents his works to the American public.

 

2 014-20 :  several personal and group exhibitions:  360 ° gallery in Braine-l'Alleud,  Art  Gallery Lefevere in Knokke, XXL ART on Waterloo Gallery, Lazarew Gallery in Brussels, "La Louve" Gallery in Arlon, Bois du Cazier Museum (Marcinelle), Martine Ehmer Gallery (Brussels)

 

Today works by Michel Bocart belong to:

 

  • Public collections: Museum of Fine Arts of Charleroi,   Marthe Donas Museum in Ittre, Collection of the municipality of Braine-l'Alleud, Museum of the municipality of Waterloo, Collection of the Walloon Region, Bois du Cazier Museum.

 

  • Private collections in Belgium including Deutsche Bank,  Société Codic in Brussels, Sonaca (Gosselie).

 

  • Collections  private abroad , France, Greece, Austria, Seychelles, United States, Canada, China .  In 2019, several works  have been acquired  by the Huawei Company and are exposed to  "Shenzhen" - China - at the Administrative Center of the company.
